The Brookline Community Band is seeking musicians who possess the following qualities:

Demonstrated high caliber of musical ability and spirit.

Willingness to commit to most rehearsals and performances.

Passion for music.
Our band consists of a diverse membership, including music teachers, working/retired professionals, and researchers. Many of our members have previous experience playing in college bands, and some hold music degrees.

Audition
Auditions for the 2024-25 season will be held on August 28 from 6:45-9pm in Brookline. An audition helps us determine the best placement for new players. In case a section is already full, we can place a player on our waiting list. An audition consists of the following:

A brief introduction about yourself.

If you play more than one instrument, please include them.

Perform one or two pieces that showcase your playing ability. The music can be solos, etudes, or excerpts from band/orchestra compositions.
-
Demonstrate your proficiency by performing two scales of your choice, spanning either one or two octaves.
